The fourth annual Conscious Capitalism research conference will be held at Bentley University on May 22 and 23, 2012. Like our previous events, this conference will feature a blend of corporate leaders, academics and thought leaders who will together explore the frontiers of our knowledge on what it means to be a conscious business in the 21st century. Prominent business leaders at the conference will include Chip Conley, Founder, Joie de Vivre, John Mackey, co-Founder & co-CEO, Whole Foods Market, Kip Tindell, CEO & Chairman, The Container Store, Doug Rauch, Former President, Trader Joe’s, and more. The conference will also feature business academics from Harvard Business School, MIT, Yale University, University of Michigan, Wharton School of Business, Darden School of Business, Cornell University and thought leaders such as Richard Barrett, Founder, Barrett Values Center. Participants will benefit from interactions with the participating executives and thought leaders, as well as about a dozen hands-on workshops designed to help attendees implement the principles of successfully leading a Conscious Business.
The primary theme of the 2012 conference is Conscious Cultures: Building a Flourishing Business on Love and Care.
Conscious businesses have distinctive cultures that help to sustain their adherence to their higher purpose and their orientation towards maintaining a harmony of interests across stakeholders. Conscious cultures are self-sustaining, self-healing and evolutionary. They are resilient (though not impervious) to changes in leadership or external context.
In this conference, we will explore what a truly conscious culture looks like, how it differs from a “great place to work,” hear from the leaders of companies that have built and sustained such cultures and look at what the journey towards creating a Conscious Culture entails.
The conference will feature ten interactive workshops on a number of themes, including several that are directly related to the culture theme. These include workshops on cultural assessment and measurement, cultural transformation, “jobcrafting,” and fostering organizational creativity.
Featuring a blend of corporate leaders, academics and thought leaders, the CCI Conference focuses on rethinking fundamental precepts of how we conceptualize, run and teach about business.
